# Appearance

> Switch Gerfaut between its light theme, its dark theme and the theme of your system, and make room on desktop by collapsing the sidebar.

Switch Gerfaut to its dark theme, or let it follow your system. Open **Settings** > **General** and find the `Appearance` card.

## Pick a theme

Under `Theme`, select `Light` (the default), `Dark` or `System`. `System` follows your operating system as it changes.

**Android**

**Desktop**

## Collapse the sidebar on desktop

Select **Collapse sidebar** at the top right of the sidebar. The sidebar keeps its icons, with each label as a tooltip. Select **Expand sidebar** to bring the labels back.
